AF1_edited.png

All right guys, you’re in the middle of our big story! What do you think if you know my family and you introduce me to yours and so I know you a little more. Below you can find a short description of my family. I like to make family trees to know the origins of families, the vast majority of my books are on this subject. I leave mine below so you can check it out and build your own family tree. Cheers you are doing very well!

Otto Frank

My father

Otto_Frank_(1961).jpg

This is my father, he was born on May 12, 1889 in Frankfurt. He was a soldier in the German army during World War I, when he was finished they were awarded a medal for the work he did. After the war they married my mother. I really love him because he is a person who has learned so much from his past and he takes good care of us at home. I have a very good relationship with him and he makes me very happy.

Edith Holländer Frank

My Mother

My mother was born in Germany on January 16, 1900. She has three brothers named Julius, Walter and Bettina. When my mother finished high school she worked in the family business. A few years later he met my father and married him at 26. The relationship with my mother is not very good, it is a problematic relationship. We have very different characters which makes us angry often.

Margot Frank

My sister

Margot_Frank,May_1942.jpg

She is my sister, older than me, she was born on February 16, 1926. She has studied in the same schools as me in Germany and Holland. She was a little jealous and behaved better with my mother than with the others, but she really loved her because she was a reference for me.

You should make a family tree of your family with pictures and the name of each member, just like the example Anna has shown above. Write a short presentation on our diary about your family members and how your relationship is with them.

HELLO KITTY

"No one would be able to understand my conversations with Kitty if I didn't tell something about myself first.  Much to my regret, I will briefly narrate what my life has been up to now.  When my parents married, my father was 36 years old and my mother was 25. My brother Margot was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1926. I was born on June 12, 1929. Because we were Jews we had to emigrate to Holland in 1933, the country where my father assumed the position of director of Travis, SA  It collaborates closely with the firm Kolen & Co., whose offices are in the same building.

Our life was full of shocks, as our relatives who did not leave Germany fell under the weight of the persecution unleashed by Hitler's laws.  After the 1938 program, Mom's two brothers fled to America. Our grandmother took refuge with us.  He was 73 years old then.  After 1940 the good times ended.  First came the war, then the surrender, then the Germans entered the Netherlands.  And so the misery began A dictatorial decree followed another M the Jews were especially affected.  They had to wear a yellow star on their clothing, deliver their bikes and they could no longer travel in Bravia, not to mention cars.  Jews could only shop between 3 and 5 in the afternoon, and only in Jewish stores.

They could not go outside after eight o'clock in the afternoon nor could they go out on their balconies or gardens after that hour.  The Jews were banned from theatres and cinemas, as well as any other place of public entertainment.  They could no longer swim in public pools or play tennis or hockey.  All sports were banned.  The Jews were forbidden to visit their Christian friends.  Jewish children should go exclusively to Jewish schools.  Thus the arbitrary prohibitions pile up.

Our whole lives were under this type of pressure.  Jopie often tells me, "I no longer dare to do almost anything, as he always thinks it may be forbidden."  Grandmother died in January of this year.  No one knows how much I loved her and how much I miss her.  In 1934 I entered the Montessori School kindergarten and then continued there.

Last year I had the principal, Mrs K, as the head of my class.  At the end of the year, we said goodbye excitedly and we embraced for a long time.  Margot and I had to continue our studies at the Jewish High School from 1941. The four of us are doing well now, and so the current moment came and I continue my journal."
