Activity 7: We know what we feel!

AF1_edited.png

Guys, we are almost at the end, but before I end this journey, I want you to tell me about that feeling and positive emotions you would have extracted during the confinement. As you well know, it was a difficult situation we were living in, but even so, I always tried to bring out the positive things that were happening every day in my life. I want you to do the same, it is very important to have good emotional intelligence. If you don’t know what it is, feel free to check it out below.

We will first have to work on what is emotional intelligence and everything around it. Once you know what it is. You will need to analyze and reflect on different paragraphs from Anna Frank’s diary as a group. These reflections must answer the following questions:
- What emotions did you feel once we read these testimonies from Anna   throughout the confinement?
- Would you be able to extract the positive parts of this confinement?

Remember that answers should always be collected in your journal. To make this activity even more difficult, you have limited time to respond and reflect.

HELLO KITTY

Sunday, February 13, 1944

"Dear Kitty:
Since yesterday, many things have changed in me. Listens. I felt terrible anxiety - I still have it - but ... I feel a little, a little vaguely appeased."

"Dear Kitty:
The weather has been good since yesterday, and I feel completely changed. Every morning I go to the attic where Peter works and where the air outside cools my mould-saturated lungs. From my favourite spot, on the ground, I look at the blue sky, the chestnut tree still naked, in whose branches the rain droplets shine, the seagulls that cut the air with their fast flight.

I am young, many of my qualities still sleep, I am young and strong enough to live this great adventure that is part of me and I refuse to complain all day long. I have been favoured by a happy nature, my joy and my strength. Every day I see myself grow inside, I feel that freedom is approaching, that nature is beautiful, I perceive the goodness of all those around me, and I experience how interesting this adventure is! Why should I despair?
Yours, ANA

"I have already talked enough about diseases. Enough. I feel better than ever, I have grown an inch, I have gained a kilo, I am pale and I am eager to restart my studies."

"Dear Kitty:
Every time I sit down to write, something special has happened; but it is almost always an unpleasant thing. Today something wonderful happens. On Wednesday, September 8, at night, the seven o'clock broadcast announced: Here follows the best news of the whole war. Italy has capitulated! Italy has
Yours, ANA capitulated without conditions! At a quarter past eight we listened to the Dutch program broadcast from England: “Dutch, an hour ago, I had just finished my daily chronicle, when we received the splendid news of the capitulation of Italy. I can assure you that I have never broken my notes with such pleasure ». They played God Save the King, the English anthem, the American anthem and The International. As always, the Dutch program broadcast from England has been very encouraging, although it does not show much optimism."
